With that said, the Dutch and Native Americans of the region would have an unhealthy relationship. This relationship was so hostile that it made the area inhabitable, and it was not an area where colonization could occur. However, the land would soon be surrendered to the British. After this happened, the Europeans would begin establishing Morris County. 

Fun Fact! Morris County was in two other counties before it was made its own. It used to be Burlington County and Hunterdon County. Today, Morris County is filled with many flowing fields and glistening lakes. That is why it is such a popular living destination.

Morris County is home to just over 494,000 people (about half the population of South Dakota). Unbelievably, it is in the top ten wealthiest counties in the United States.
